Director of Library and Academic Information Services

Trinity Washington University is seeking applications for the position of Director of Library and Academic Information Services. The Director reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and works closely with all academic programs.

Responsibilities: planning and policy direction for centralized library and academic services such as acquisitions, budget, personnel, information systems, development of information services as well as other academic services including international students, students with disabilities, the Writing Center and the Center for Student Support.

The director will provide strategic leadership for the management, coordination and integration of library and academic services with information teaching and learning technologies.  The director will also participate in the planning and construction of a University Academic Center.

Requirements:  MLS and five years of progressively responsible library management experience and other relevant academic services.  The successful candidate will be a creative and energetic library and academic services advocate who will demonstrate the ability to enthusiastically connect with all constituents (students, faculty, administration), and with the library and academic services communities through participation in professional associations; ability to apply new technologies to library and academic services; will have an understanding of the information and academic services needs of faculty and students and the application of information, teaching and learning technologies within the academic environment; will welcome the challenge of leading and managing in an institution which has experienced recent growth in student body and will thrive in a collaborative environment.  Also required are: Excellent oral and written communication skills; Positive approach to problem solving and leadership; Proven ability to work independently and collegially in a complex and changing environment.  Candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and show both initiative and flexibility; demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population of faculty, staff, students and community members.
