Director, Nursing Program

Trinity, a comprehensive university in the nation’s capital, seeks a Nursing Program Director to oversee its nursing program.

As a member of the School of Professional Studies, the Nursing Program Director will provide leadership in teaching, scholarship, and professional practice.  She or he will oversee the academic planning, ongoing development, and evaluation of the nursing program, including ensuring currency of the nursing curriculum; monitoring student learning assessment and outcomes toward successful attainment or retention of NCLEX licensure; developing class, laboratory, and clinical schedules; maintaining written agreements with cooperating agencies and clinical sites; supervising full-time and part-time faculty; developing articulation agreements; generating grants for the program; and recommending program expansions, as appropriate.  She or he will also participate in university outreach, development, fundraising and health-related community activities as well as regional and national organizations. 

Applicants for the position will hold a doctorate in nursing or a related field.  They will have the ability to provide leadership in all respects for a growing program that maintains CCNE accreditation and complies with the DC Board of Nursing standards, including coordinating self-study reporting and program review.   Having teaching experience at the baccalaureate level, the successful applicant will hold or be eligible for RN licensure in the District of Columbia.
