Associate Dean, School of Professional Studies
Trinity invites applications for the position of Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies in the coeducational School of Professional Studies (SPS), which offers innovative programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels designed for adult learners.
Trinity seeks candidates who are profoundly committed to teaching, who have experience working with adult learners from highly diverse backgrounds, and who have a proven track record of collegiality as scholars, teachers, and administrators.
The associate dean will work closely with the SPS dean in such areas as program development and delivery responsive to regional and local needs, including course development and scheduling; integration of both the School of Professional Studies core curriculum and experiential learning opportunities throughout all undergraduate programs; recruitment and mentoring of new faculty, particularly adjuncts; and the professional development and performance evaluation of faculty and staff (especially around pedagogy designed for adult learners). (S)he will also work closely with advisors to orient new students, ensure initial assessment and placement, and monitor transcript evaluation, referral for academic and other support services, and progress toward degree completion.
Applicants should have at least five years of experience teaching at the collegiate level as well as at least two years of experience in the administration of undergraduate programs specifically designed for adult learners. An earned doctorate is required. Knowledge of undergraduate professional programs grounded in a liberal arts framework is preferred, as is experience with alternative learning formats, such as accelerated programs and online course and program delivery.
