Associate Dean, School of Education
Trinity invites applications for the position of Associate Dean in the coeducational School of Education, which offers graduate degrees and, in conjunction with Trinity’s College of Arts and Sciences and School of Professional Studies, undergraduate degrees in education. The School of Education is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
Trinity seeks candidates who are profoundly committed to teaching, who have experience working with learners from highly diverse backgrounds, and who have a proven track record of collegiality as scholars, teachers, and administrators, particularly in the field of Teacher Education.
The associate dean will work closely with the School of Education dean in such areas as program development and delivery responsive to regional and local needs, including course development and scheduling; recruitment and mentoring of new faculty, particularly adjuncts; the professional development of faculty and staff; and collection, analysis and reporting of assessment data. (S)he will work closely with faculty advisors and will also assist with performance evaluations.
Applicants should have at least five years of experience teaching at the collegiate level as well as at least two years of experience in the administration of education programming at the collegiate level. An earned doctorate is required as is teaching/administration experience in PK-12 education. Experience with accreditation required, NCATE preferred.
