Assistant Professor, Human Relations
Trinity Washington University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Human Relations within the coeducational School of Professional Studies (SPS), which offers innovative programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels designed for adult learners.
The successful applicant will direct the Human Relations program; teach courses and ensure currency of the Human Relations and related curricula; advise students; supervise and collaborate with adjunct faculty; assist in promoting the Human Relations degree program and in recruitment efforts; and establish professional connections and partnerships in the region. The incumbent will also be responsible for the design and implementation of a proposed Master’s degree in Social Work.
Applicants for this position will hold a master’s degree of social work from a Council on Social Work Education-accredited program (a doctorate in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a closely-related field preferred), possess or be eligible to possess a valid license to practice social work in the District of Columbia, have extensive practical work experience involving social work and/or human relations, and have at least two years of teaching experience in higher education, preferably with part-time, adult learners. Experience with curriculum design and delivery strongly preferred. Preference will be given to the candidate who can demonstrate excellence in teaching and potential for scholarly and service contributions.
