Ellen Bethea and Cristina Martinez Receive Association of Division III Independents Women’s Player of the Week Award

For the first time, two Trinity students were named player of the week in the same week. Trinity freshman setter Ellen Bethea of New Haven, Connecticut, has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player of the Week. Bethea set a season record high of 14 digs and three service aces in a loss to Rosemont College. She totaled 21 digs for the week. Trinity junior goalkeeper/forward Cristina Martinez of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Player of the Week. Martinez pulled double duty in a win over Washington Adventist University, switching from forward to goalkeeper at the half. She made 17 saves to help secure a 1-0 victory for Trinity.
