Trinity Students Inducted into Lambda Pi Eta, Communication Honor Society

Eight juniors and seniors were inducted into the Trinity Chapter of Lambda Pi Eta, the national communication honor society, at a ceremony on April 7, 2008. Dr. Diane Forbes Berthoud, assistant professor of communication, chair of the communication program and faculty advisor to Lambda Pi Eta, presided over the ceremony.

Erica Gillette ’04, who was inducted into Lambda Pi Eta when she was a student at Trinity, gave the keynote remarks, in which she encouraged the new inductees to “stay focused to reach your goals.” Gillette earned a master’s in television broadcasting journalism from the University of Miami and is the media coordinator for the Washington bureau of Al Jazeera English television network.

Students are eligible for membership in Lambda Pi Eta if they have completed at least 60 semester hours; have completed at least 12 semester hours of communication study; have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0; have a communication studies GPA of at least 3.25; are currently enrolled as a student of good standing; and display a commitment to the field of communication.
