Raymond Barbic Appointed Executive Vice President
President Patricia McGuire announced the appointment of Mr. Raymond V. Barbic, CPA, as Trinity's new Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Barbic succeeds Ms. Barbara Lettiere who retired earlier this month.
Ray Barbic brings more than thirty years of business experience to his new responsibilities at Trinity. A graduate of Wilmington College (B.B.A.) and Widener University (M.B.A.), Barbic spent the largest part of his career with MBNA Bank in financial operations and control positions, most recently as senior vice president of MBNA America. He also has senior financial management experience with the Federal Home Loan Corporation, Montgomery Ward Credit Corp., and Beneficial Corporation.
">In this era of heightened scrutiny of financial controls and risk management in all corporations, including nonprofit colleges and universities, Mr. Barbic's experience will serve Trinity well," said President McGuire. "His experience with accounting and internal controls, receivables management, budget management, financial reporting, investments, capital budgets, facilities and operations management will continue the important perspective of contemporary business practices that Ms. Lettiere initiated during her tenure at Trinity. Such experience from corporate practice, rather than traditional higher education, is increasingly in high demand among universities like Trinity seeking to maintain strong financial performance which supports credit ratings, borrowing capacity, and appeal to major donors."
In addition to supervising all facets of the Business Office and Trinity's financial management, Barbic will supervise all non-academic operations including Financial Aid, Facilities Services, Information Technology, Public Safety, Food Service, the Trinity Center, and auxiliary enterprises including the Bookstore and Post Office.
