Construction Continues At Swift Pace

The Trinity Center for Women and Girls in Sports is taking shape and rising into the sky in its full splendor.

This past spring, the building was fully framed in steel and large trusses were installed forming the roof. More than 80 masons are laying 3,000 cinder blocks a day to create the interior and exterior walls. Arches have been installed at the front and rear of the building, echoing the architectural themes of historic Alumnae Hall.

This summer, bricks will begin to rise along the sides of the building to create the finished exterior walls. At the roof level, layers of plywood, insulation, and an ice and water shield are being installed before 45,000 clay tiles are secured to the roof, which will take place throughout the summer. The pool and spa have been excavated and the infrastructure for the filter system is being installed.

As part of this year's Founders' Day festivities in April, Trinity held a special "Topping Off" celebration to commemorate the milestone of the highest and last beam being welded into place.

In honor of this event, Trinity students, athletes, faculty and staff gathered to raise the U.S. and College flag to the very top of the Trinity Center for Women and Girls in Sports.
