Pi Sigma Alpha Inducts New Members
Tekedra McGee Jefferson '93 Inducted as Honorary Member,
Addresses New Members
April 9, 2002
Trinity
College's Pi Sigma Chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political
honors society, inducted five full and 10 associate student
members at a ceremony on April 9, 2002. Tekedra McGee Jefferson
'93, a staff attorney for America Online and a member of the
Trinity College Board of Trustees, was inducted as the Chapter's
third honorary member. Dr. Ira Reed, Professor of Political
Science, presided over the ceremonies.
The full members inducted were:

The associate members inducted were:
Karla Acosta
Ernestine Blango
Francess Cole
Brittany Curtis
Cathy Gough
Lisa Nilsson

Adrian Ramos
Lorraine Silva
Yelena Zeru
All full members have completed at least eighteen hours of
political science course with at least a 3.0 in those courses,
at least a 3.0 overall GPA, and at least one 400 level political
science course at Trinity. All associate members have completed
at least nine hours of political science courses at Trinity
with at least a 3.0 average in those courses.
President Patricia McGuire '74, who was inducted as the first
honorary member of the Psi Sigma Chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha in
2000, gave congratulatory remarks at the ceremony.
Tekedra McGee Jefferson '93 addressed the new initiates, encouraging
and inspiring them to use their knowledge and skills in ways
that will make a positive impact in their communities, the nation,
and in our global community.
