| Trinity Exceeds $12 Million Campaign in Support of From the moment you step onto Trinity’s campus, you can feel the excitement! The new Trinity Center for Women and Girls in Sports is a jewel in the center of campus, an elegant red-roofed addition to the changing landscape, surrounded by Main, Alumnae, Cuvilly, Kerby, and the premier playing field and tennis courts in the Washington metropolitan area. Trinity College is deeply grateful for the tremendous outpouring of support for this ambitious project that is the overture to Trinity’s second century. More than 1,600 alumnae and friends came forward to share this vision of the future, joining with foundation and corporate support to raise an incredible $12.2 million. Individual gifts and bequests – from alumnae and friends – provided the largest share of support to the Centennial Campaign with a total of more than $9.3 million. Foundations provided more than $1.8 million in grants to the Campaign, and corporate support and gifts from organizations totaled more than $1 million. The success of the Centennial Campaign and the conclusion of the prestigious Kresge Challenge for the Trinity Center for Women and Girls in Sports deserves celebration. It is a testament to the teachings of the Sisters of Notre Dame that so many alumnae came forward with such generosity. In remembering their own Trinity experiences they have sought to provide that rich experience for others as Trinity’s future is strengthened. Trinity has triumphed with a beautiful new complex that has invigorated the College through increased enrollments and the community through various outreach programs. We express our gratitude not only in words, but also through our efforts to continue to strengthen Trinity for generations to come. |
