Reunion 2003!

Reunion 2003 was a weekend to remember, as classes ending in "3" and "8" came home to Trinity for a weekend of fun and friendship. The highlight of the weekend was, of course, the beautiful new Trinity Center for Women and Girls in Sports, which provided an elegant venue for much of the weekend's activities. The Trinity Center was open for tennis, swimming and fitness workouts through the weekend. On Friday evening guests enjoyed a delightful reception on the plaza in front of the Center before entering for a performance by the popular satire group The Capitol Steps. Saturday, the traditional all-campus luncheon was also held in the Trinity Center - fully air-conditioned! - and provided a gracious location for all to mix and mingle. Champagne flutes were raised by alumnae as President McGuire announced the successful conclusion of the Centennial Campaign at $12 million! President Emerita Sr. Margaret Claydon '45, Board of Trustees Chair Peggy Hoffman O'Brien '69 and Alumnae Association President Betsy Griffith '78 shared the dais with President McGuire for the historic announcement. How appropriate that as over 400 classmates and friends celebrated in the Center, the new playing field was filled with more than 650 youth from metropolitan soccer teams participating in a day-long skills clinic!

Following mass, the Class of 1953 was awarded gold medals commemorating their 50th Reunion. Classmates went on to parties and members of the classes of 1938, 1943 and 1948 were guests of President McGuire for dinner in the Rose Parlor. The feeling of pride and joy in our alma mater was evident throughout the weekend, and Sunday brunch provided a festive close to Reunion.
