St. Catherine Medal Awarded to
Hagar Aminah Pleasant-Bey '04

Senior Hagar Aminah Pleasant-Bey of Baltimore, Maryland, was awarded the distinguished St. Catherine Medal at Cap and Gown Convocation on Saturday, September 27. This year's recipient has distinguished herself in many ways during her Trinity years. She has been a campus leader, an outstanding athlete in several sports, a trusted advisor to many students, and an excellent scholar. She has held high office among the student body, including this year as president of the Campus Activities Association, even while keeping up with her studies as a math major and honor student.

The St. Catherine Medal is named after Saint Catherine of Alexandria, a third century woman renowned for her love of learning. She is honored as the patron of philosophers. This award is given by Kappa Gamma Pi, the National Catholic College Graduate Honor Society, in order to recognize an outstanding senior who reflects the ideals of St. Catherine. Trinity College is a member of Kappa Gamma Pi, and nominates the recipient based upon a review of the academic, co-curricular and leadership achievements of the candidates.
