Commencement Rain Plan

We will make every effort to conduct the 2008 Commencement on the front lawn in front of the Library, Trinity’s traditional site for Commencement. However, in a hard rain, or if lightning occurs, or other very bad weather, we will need to move the ceremony indoors to the Trinity Center for Women and Girls in Sports.

If it is raining on commencement morning, please call Trinity’s weather hotline 202-884-9009 to find out whether we are implementing our ‘rain plan’ below.

1. Two Ceremonies
In the event of rain, we will conduct two Commencement ceremonies at the Trinity Center as follows:

• Ceremony 1: CAS and SPS: 11:00 a.m. (Students Report at 9 am)
  • CAS and SPS undergraduate and graduate degrees will be conferred in a ceremony beginning at 11 am in the Trinity Center.
     
• Ceremony 2: EDU: 2:00 p.m. (Students Report at 1 pm)
  • School of Education graduate degrees will be conferred in a ceremony beginning at 2 pm in the Trinity Center.

2. Graduating Students in CAS and SPS in Ceremony #1
Report to he Trinity Center with all of your regalia at 9:00 a.m. We will give you further directions after your arrival.

Your guests may enter the Trinity Center starting at 9:30 a.m. Your guests must have rain tickets. We will issue SIX rain tickets per graduate. No one may enter the Trinity Center without a rain ticket. Your cooperation is very important. We do not wish to disappoint any family, but we can only accommodate SIX individuals per family.

3. School of Education Master’s Degree Graduates in Ceremony #2
Report to the Trinity Center with all of your regalia at 1:00 p.m. We will give you further directions after your arrival.

Your guests may enter the Trinity Center starting at 1:30 p.m. Your guests must have rain tickets. We will issue SIX rain tickets per graduate. No one may enter the Trinity Center without a rain ticket. Your cooperation is very important. We do not wish to disappoint any family, but we can only accommodate SIX individuals per family.
