Remarks by Julie Rogers, President of the Meyer Foundation
Thank you Barbara and good evening.
Thank you Don for your wonderful remarks.
I am so deeply honored to have this moment to acknowledge my dear friend and colleague, Pat McGuire, who was a superb asset to the Meyer Foundation as a member of our board of directors for 12 years.
Pat, I am so proud of you as the second nonprofit leader to receive this distinguished award.
You exemplify the qualities Meyer celebrates in all nonprofit leaders Passion. Vision. Commitment and Moxie!
Your business acumen, political skills and sheer guts have secured Trinity's survival in an era when Catholic women's colleges have shrunk from 160 to 16 and it's transformation to serve with equity and honor the women of our own region. You have given many women the opportunities they would not otherwise have had -- to fulfill their educational dreams, and, just as importantly, prepare them for the jobs our business community and regional economy need for continued success.
I'd like to ask all the members of Trinity's community faculty, staff, alumni and students that are here tonight to stand in your honor.
Pat, your commitment to justice and equity are matched by your business success and the countless contributions you have made to the community at large by your presence, your integrity and your service.
You are a treasure, and it is my great pleasure to give this award to you our Board of Trade 2007 leader of the Years. Congratulations.
