Trinity to Host 2006 Atlantic Women's College Conference Basketball Tournament

Trinity will be hosting the 2006 Atlantic Women's College Conference basketball tournament in the Trinity Center for Women and Girls in Sports on Friday, February 24 and Saturday, February 25.

The AWCC is an NCAA Division III Conference with eight full members in New York , Pennsylvania , Maryland , Virginia and the District of Columbia .  Founded in 1995, the AWCC has been recognized by the NCAA as a conference since 1999 and conducts conference championships in eight intercollegiate sports.  The eight members of the conference are: Chatham College (Pittsburgh, Pa.), Chestnut Hill College (Philadelphia, Pa.), Hood College (Frederick, Md.), Mary Baldwin College (Staunton, Va.), College of Notre Dame of Maryland (Baltimore, Md.), Trinity (Washington, D.C.), Wells College (Aurora, N.Y.) and Wilson College (Chambersburg, Pa.).

The Trinity Center opened in 2003, and is the largest facility in the nation dedicated to women and girls in sports.  The Trinity Tigers basketball team is completing its third season in the Trinity Centers, and is proud to host the 2006 AWCC tournament.
