Barbara Humphrey McCrabb, Director of Campus Ministry, announced that four Trinity students have been selected to participate in the Sr. Seton Cunneen '65 Summer Service Fellowship program this summer.

The 2004 Sr. Seton Cunneen '65 Summer Service Fellows and their service placements are:

Eileen Denny '07, Institute on Religion and Public Policy
Leticia Rochelle Maya-Callen '07, Spanish Catholic Center
Khrysle Roberts '07, N Street Village
Sanada Spellman '06, Paul Public Charter School.

"These women submitted thoughtful and engaging proposals to serve at a variety of non-profit agencies in the area," said McCrabb.

The summer fellowship program was created in honor of Sr. Seton Cunneen, SND, '65, former Director of Campus Ministry at Trinity. "Her passion for justice and her commitment to service lives on in these women," said McCrabb. "A key element of this program is a hallmark of the Sisters of Notre Dame, namely, the transformative nature of education. This fellowship provides an opportunity for students to work, to serve the community, and to gain insights to real social issues which will further their academic and personal development." Prior to this year, eight Trinity women have been selected since the inception of the fellowship program in 1997.

The Sr. Seton Cunneen '65 Summer Fellowship program was established with a generous grant from the Robinson Fund, which also provides annual support to the program.

This summer, each Cunneen Fellow will receive a $3,000 stipend, along with stipends for food and transportation. In addition, summer housing is provided for those who do not live in the area.
