Twelve Trinity students were inducted into Lambda Pi Eta, the communication honor society at the inaugural ceremony for the newly established chapter. Diane Forbes Berthoud, the faculty advisor for the honor society, presided over the ceremonies, and Dr. Jamey Piland, associate professor of communication, was the guest speaker.

Communication majors and minors who meet the criteria were invited to apply for membership and induction into Lambda Pi Eta.
Guidelines for membership are those students who:
- Have completed at least 60 semester hours
- Have completed at least 12 semester hours of communication study
- Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
- Have a communication studies GPA of at least 3.25
- Currently enrolled as a student in good standing
- Display commitment to the field of communication
