Metro Track Work on the Red Line Affects Brookland Station April 16-18
Metro to Run Free Shuttle;
Trinity to Run Regular Shuttle Service To and From Brookland Metro



As part of the construction of the new Florida and New York Avenues station, Metro will close the Red Line between Union Station and Fort Totten from 9:00 p.m. on Friday, April 16 to 5 a.m. on Monday, April 19. The same section of the Red Line also will be closed from 9:00 p.m. on Friday, April 30, to midnight on Sunday, May 2.

During this project, there will be no Metrorail service on the Red Line between Fort Totten and Union Station from 9 p.m. on Friday, April 16 to 5 a.m. on Monday, April 19, 2004. There will be no Metrorail service to the Brookland/CUA and Rhode Island stations.

Metro will run free Metro shuttle buses to accomodate customers between Fort Totten and Union Station with stops at the Brookland/CUA and Rhode Island Avenue Metrorail stations:

  • Customers who normally board at the Brookland station will need to take a free Metro shuttle bus from the station to either Union Station or Fort Totten, depending on their direction of travel.

  • Customers travelling to the Brookland station will need to take a free Metro shuttle bus from either Fort Totten or Union Station, depending on their direction of travel.

Trinity College will run its regular shuttle service throughout the weekend, to and from the Brookland station.
