Sophomore Pin Ceremony



 

The Blue Class of 2005 were honored by Trinity College at the Sophomore Pin Ceremony on Tuesday, January 28, 2003. Speakers included Cristina Parsons, Assistant Professor Econcomics, Saundra Herndon Oyewole, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, and Sophia Bell, President of the Class of 2005.

President McGuire presented the sophomore with their pins and congratulated them on their official status as second-year students at Trinity. In her remarks, President McGuire talked about important issues that affect students, including Title IX, the Higher Education Reauthorization Act, the Supreme Court case on affirmative action, and the possibility of U.S. engaging in war. "These are all issues that affect you - as students and as the future leaders of this country - and it is important that you learn about these issues, have an opinion, express your opinion, and engage in dialogue, because these are important issues that matter."
