Trinity is One of Only Two Colleges
in the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Area Named to Magazine’s
List of
"Great Schools at Great Prices"
Washington, D.C...... "Where can you
expect to get the most for your money?" According to U.S.
News & World Report, you can get the best educational value
at Trinity College in Washington.
For the second year in a row, Trinity College
has been named one of the best values in higher education by
U.S. News and World Report, in the magazine's annual
college rankings released this week.
In a list featuring "Great Schools at Great
Prices," Trinity College was listed as one of the best
values for students. Trinity is one of only two colleges or
universities in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area named
to the magazine’s list of "Great Schools at Great Prices";
Gallaudet University was also named to the list.
U.S. News and World Report determined
which colleges and universities offer the best value by using
a formula that relates a school's academic quality, as indicated
by its U.S. News ranking, with the net cost of attendance
for a student who receives the average level of financial aid.
According to U.S. News, "the higher the quality
of the school's academic program and the lower the cost to the
student, the better the deal. We considered only the universities
and colleges that finished in the top half of their categories
in the U.S. News rankings. We believe that families will
find the most significant values among colleges that are above
average academically."
Trinity College was also ranked one of the best
colleges in the magazine's 2003 guide, based on criteria such
as student-faculty ratio, peer assessment and class size.
This fall, Trinity College welcomed its largest
freshman class since 1982, and set an all-time record enrollment
of more than 1,700 students. On November 23, 2002, Trinity will
officially dedicate the Trinity
Center for Women and Girls in Sports, a state-of-the-art
athletic complex that is the largest facility in the country
dedicated to women's sports.
Trinity College is a comprehensive university
in Washington, D.C., offering a full range of undergraduate
and graduate programs for students of all ages, with a special
emphasis on women's education in the College of Arts and Sciences,
and professional development in the coeducational School of
Professional Studies and School of Education.
