Two exemplary leaders and alumnae of Trinity College will be honored and will speak to the graduates at Trinity College's 99th Commencement ceremonies on Sunday, May 19, at 11:00 a.m.

Jeanette Jackson ClarkThe Honorable Jeanette Jackson Clark, Trinty College Class of 1970, was recently sworn in as Associate Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Judge Clark is a graduate of the Howard University Law School, and she also earned a Master's in Education degree from Wheelock College. After graduating from Trinity in 1970 as senior class president and an outstanding student leader, Judge Clark taught in the D.C. Public Schools and at Sidwell Friends School for ten years.

Upon graduating from law school and after a clerkship and practicing with the law firm, Steptoe and Johnson, Judge Clark began a long and distinguished career as a trial attorney with WMATA, the Washington Metropolitan Transit Authority, Washington's Metro system.

Judge Clark served Trinity as a member of the Board of Trustees for six years. As a judge at Superior Court, Judge Clark joins the Honorable Patricia Broderick '71, who joined the bench in 1998.

Sister Mary Ann CookSister Mary Ann Cook, SND, Trinity College Class of 1960, has served her alma mater in countless ways: she is a former Professor of English and Academic Dean, and, more recently, a Trustee for twelve years, serving the last six years as the Chair of the Board of Trustees. Sr. Mary Ann Cook, SND, is President of the Education for Parish Service program, which prepares lay people for parish service.

"These two women are both exemplary leaders in many ways," said President Patricia McGuire. "Judge Jackson is a woman of great integrity and intellect. She has served Trinity well as a trustee, and she continues as a great friend of Trinity and volunteer and advocate on our behalf."

President McGuire noted that "Sr. Mary Ann Cook has been a stalwart, tireless leader for Trinity and for the mission of the SNDs and St. Julie Billiart, the foundress of the Sisters of Notre Dame. As the Sisters of Notre Dame prepare for the 200th anniversary of their founding in 2004, Sr. Mary Ann Cook is a great exemplar of their mission and charism."

Trinity College's Commencement will take place on the front lawn of the library on Saturday, May 19, at 11:00 a.m.
