Linda D. Rabbitt is the founder and owner of Rand
Construction Corporation a commercial construction company
that specializes in building renovations and tenant build-outs.
In 2000, Rand Construction was ranked both the 6th largest
woman-owned business and the 7th largest interior construction
company in the Washington Metropolitan area. In their 1999
through 2001 lists, Working Woman magazine ranked Rand Construction
among the nation's top 500 women-owned businesses, making
it the 4th largest woman-owned general contractor in the
country.
In 1985, Ms. Rabbitt co-founded and co-owned Hart Construction
Company, Washington's first 100% woman-owned commercial
tenant construction company. She was responsible for field
operations and overall business affairs. The company was
ranked the 23rd largest woman-owned business in Washington.
Linda Rabbitt is the current chair of the Greater Washington
Board of Trade. She is past president of the Women's Forum
of Washington, D.C., the Washington Building Congress and
Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW). She is a member of
the Board of Trustees for the Federal City Council, and
past member of the Board of Directors of The Economic Club
of Washington and Leadership Washington. She is also a member
of D.C. Building Industry Association, D.C. Chamber of Commerce,
and the Associated Builders and Contractors.
Ms. Rabbitt has been honored by the Virginia Chamber of
Commerce with the Virginia Vanguard Award as the Top Construction
Company and has received the Person of Vision Award from
Arlington County. She has been annually named a Top Woman
Business Owner by the National Association of Women Business
Owners and the Washington Business Journal since 1992.
