March 14, 2002.... Trinity College President Patricia
McGuire presented Linda D. Rabbitt, founder and president
of Rand
Construction, with the College's prestigious Washington
Woman of Genius Award at a luncheon today. Ms. Rabbitt is
the current chair of the Greater Washington Board of Trade,
and past president of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW).
"Linda Rabbitt stands out in the Washington community
today as an exemplar of courage, excellence and leadership",
said President McGuire. "On the occasion of the 2002
Women's History Month, Trinity College is proud to honor
Linda Rabbitt as a Washington Woman of Genius."

Communications, read the citation
honoring Ms. Rabbitt, noting that "Linda Rabbitt is
the expert on the relationship between hard work and success.
Her elegant style and effervescent approach to leadership
reveal that she's also having an enormous amount of fun
enjoying her success."
Trinity launched the Washington Women of Genius Award in
November 2000 as part of its Centennial Festival. As the
only undergraduate women's college in the Washington region,
Trinity is especially devoted to highlighting and celebrating
the accomplishments, creative spirit and leadership example
of outstanding women. Washington business leaders, Trinity
faculty, and Trinity students who are aspiring corporate
and civic leaders joined together in honoring Linda Rabbitt.
Linda D. Rabbitt is the founder and owner of Rand Construction
Corporation, a commercial construction company that specializes
in building renovations and tenant build-outs. In 2000,
Rand Construction was ranked both the 6th largest woman-owned
business and the 7th largest interior construction company
in the Washington Metropolitan area. In their 1999 through
2001 lists, Working Woman magazine ranked Rand Construction
among the nation's top 500 women-owned businesses, making
it the 4th largest woman-owned general contractor in the

Beyond her professional accomplishments at Rand, Ms. Rabbitt
has also demonstrated exemplary leadership and dedication
to the growth of the Washington region through her involvement
in the Women's Forum of Washington, the Washington Building
Congress, Commercial Real Estate Women, the Federal City
Council, the Economic Club and Leadership Washington.
