How do I restore an item deleted from the main page of the course?
From Moodle version 3.2 and forward, the Moodle system offers a ‘Recycle bin’ where you can locate items deleted from the main page of your course. The deleted content is usually available in the Recycle Bin about 5-10 minutes after you initially delete it, and it stays there for 7 days. This does not apply to items deleted in the gradebook, such as manual grade items or gradebook categories.
Please note: If it has been longer than 7 days, it’s possible the content was saved in a backup of the course. Usually, you would have to restore the course back to how it was prior to the deletion, which would mean losing some changes you’ve made since then. Please submit a Moodle Support Help Desk ticket to receive information on items deleted more than 7 days ago.

To access the Recycle Bin:
- From the main page of your course, click on the gearwheel in the upper right corner.
- From the drop-down menu which appears, click the ‘Recycle bin’ option near the bottom.
- The items available for restoration will be listed here. Be aware it can take up to 5 minutes for the recently deleted item to show up in the list, and the the item is only available for seven days.
For the item you wish to restore, click the arrow for that item in the ‘Restore’ column. At this point, it should automatically restore the item to the main page of the course where it was originally placed.
