How do I adjust my pop-up blocker settings?

 
 

 For Moodle to function properly, you need to make sure that your browser currently allows pop-ups (and javascript). To check and adjust your pop-up blockers, follow the instructions for your browser:

Jump to:

Internet Explorer 9 (IE)

  1. Click the IE menu on the browser toolbar:IE menupopup_IE_00
  2. Click on the “Internet options” choice from the menu that appears.

  3. In the “Internet Options” window, click on the “Privacy” tab.

  4. In the “Pop-up Blocker” section, you can either turn of the pop-up blocker entirely by unchecking the box next to “Turn on Pop-up Blocker” or add an exception by clicking on the “Settings” button.
  5. If you are adding an exception to your blocker, click on the “Settings” button.
  6. In the “Pop-up Blocker” Settings” window, add the Moodle URL (http://moodle.trinitydc.edu/) in the box labelled “Address of website to allow:” and click the “Add” button.

  7. Now, close out of all of the windows.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Click the Firefox menu on the browser toolbar:firefox menupopup_Firefox_00
  2. In the menu that appears, click on the “Options” and then choose “Options” again.

  3. In the “Options” menu, click on the “Content” option/tab.

  4. In the “Content” section, you can either turn of the pop-up blocker entirely by unchecking the box next to “Block pop-up windows” or add an exception by clicking on the “Exceptions” button.
  5. If you are adding an exception to your blocker, click on the “Exceptions” button.
  6. In the “Allowed Sites – Pop-ups” window, add the Moodle URL (http://moodle.trinitydc.edu/) in the box labelled “Address of website to allow:” and click the “Allow” button.

  7. Now, close out of all of the windows.

Google Chrome

  1. Click the Chrome menu on the browser toolbar: menu

  2. Select “Settings.”

  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click “Show advanced settings.”

  4. In the “Privacy” section, click the “Content settings” button.

  5. In the “Pop-ups” section, select “Allow all sites to show pop-ups” or click “Manage exceptions.”popup_Chrome_02
  6. On the “Manage exceptions” screen, type in
    trinitydc.edu to allow all Trinity sites to function properly.

  7. Now, close out of all of the windows.

Apple’s Safari

  1. Click the Safari menu on the browser tool: safari menu

  2. Click on the “Block Pop-up Windows” so that there isn’t a checkmark next to it.
