How do I take a screenshot?

If you encounter any problems or issues in Moodle, especially any errors messages, please let the Moodle Help Desk know by sending a screenshot of the message, along with your Moodle support ticket.

  • On Windows-based computers with a standard keyboard, simply click the “Print Scrn/SysRq” button, found in the upper right area of your keyboard (see image below). This will copy your entire screen to your computer’s clipboard.
  • To paste the captured image in an email, place your cursor in the body of the email and press the “Ctrl” and “V” keys together. This will paste the clipboard contents (your screenshot) into the email.

  • For Mac users, press the following keys to capture the screen and save it to the clipboard: “shift” + “control” + “command” + “3”. This will copy your entire screen to your computer’s clipboard. To paste the captured image in an email, place your cursor in the body of the email and press the “command” and “V” keys together. This will paste the clipboard contents (your screenshot) into the email.
