Sr. Ann Howard, a Sister of Notre Dame for over 40 years, moved to DC from Connecticut in August, 2016, to participate in a local formation community on Bryant St. NW.  Sr. Ann graduated from the University of Connecticut before becoming a SND, and, after teaching elementary students, pursued an M. Div. at Boston College (Jesuits) as a means of professional development.  Serving in Campus Ministry in high school and in college, and as Site Director with Notre Dame Mission Volunteers- AmeriCorps in Hartford, CT, Sr. Ann has learned to walk with others who are discerning their future directions.  On serving others, Sr. Ann says, “Service to others is a way of recognizing one’s own gifts, and experiencing joy in giving to others.”  When Sr. Ann felt the need to further her listening skills, she enrolled in a course in Clinical Pastoral Education through the National Association of Catholic Chaplains, in Brighton, MA.  Now, a Board Certified Chaplain, Sr. Ann has served in parish and hospital ministry, accompanying families and individuals of various faith backgrounds, towards embracing life’s challenges.

“What a joy is it for me to serve the Trinity community in Campus Ministry, where our students are serious about learning and our community is engaged in social justice.  God’s goodness abounds!”

You can reach Sr. Ann directly at 202-884-9608, in her office in Main 224 or by email at HowardAn@trinitydc.edu.
