On April 4, 2013, she spoke as part of a student panel focusing on “Youth Voices: How U.S. Department of Education’s Policies Are Impacting Students.” She spoke specifically about her Pell grant and how it enabled her to pursue a college degree. New Two-Car Elevator Opens in Main Hall

January 10, 2012 - Trinity is pleased to announce that a new two-car elevator is now servicing Main Hall. Thanks to the generosity of alumnae who have responded so remarkably to Trinity Annual Fund appeals over the last several years, Trinity had the financial resources to build a second elevator. The installation of the elevator was a major project during the summer and fall of 2011, starting with demolition to clear the way for the new elevator shafts, and then the construction of the shafts and installation of the elevators. Ambassador Susan Flood Burk ’76 to Speak at December Graduation

Senior Tiara Bland ’12 Awarded St. Catherine Medal at Cap and Gown Mass

September 25, 2011 - Trinity senior Tiara Bland ’12 was awarded the prestigious St. Catherine Medal at Cap and Gown Mass on September 25, 2011.  Bland, a human relations major who has a minor in education, is from Windsor Mill, Maryland.  Bland has distinguished herself as a scholar and student leader in many ways. She transferred to Trinity and immediately became an active participant in campus life. Leek ’03 will give the keynote remarks at Cap and Gown Convocation and receive Trinity’s Washington Woman of Genius Award for her outstanding leadership in public service on Saturday, September 24, in the Trinity Center at 5:00 pm.  Leek currently serves as chief of staff to Congressman Chaka Fattah (D-PA), ranking member of the Commerce, Justice and Science Subcommittee of the House Appropriations Committee.  She is one of the youngest chiefs of staffs on Capitol Hill. Maryland Congresswoman Donna F. Edwards to Speak at Trinity on Wednesday, September 14

September 7, 2011 - Maryland Democratic Congresswoman Donna F. Edwards will speak at Trinity on Wednesday, September 14, at 7:30 pm in the Rose Parlor in Main Hall.  Students, faculty and staff are invited to attend.  Her visit to campus is sponsored by the Trinity College Democrats.  Edwards represents Maryland’s 4th Congressional District comprising portions of Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties.  She won a special election and was sworn in as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives in the 110th Congress in June 2008, and began her first full term in the 111th Congress in 2009.
