February 12, 2012 - The Honorable Barbara Bailey Kennelly ’58, former member of Congress from Connecticut and distinguished professor of political science at Trinity, spoke to more than 150 students, faculty and staff gathered for the College of Arts and Scieinces Dean’s List Ceremony on February 16, 2012.  She called on the students, “the best and the brightest at Trinity, Dean’s List students,” to ”become actors in our democratic system,” which she called “the strongest democracy in the world.”   Here are her complete remarks. President McGuire Receives National Award for Advocacy and Leadership in Higher Education

January 31, 2012 - Trinity President Patricia McGuire received the distinguished 2012 Henry Paley Award today from NAICU – the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities. This award recognizes one individual each year who exemplifies an outstanding commitment to students, faculty and higher education. New Two-Car Elevator Opens in Main Hall

January 10, 2012 - Trinity is pleased to announce that a new two-car elevator is now servicing Main Hall. Thanks to the generosity of alumnae who have responded so remarkably to Trinity Annual Fund appeals over the last several years, Trinity had the financial resources to build a second elevator. The installation of the elevator was a major project during the summer and fall of 2011, starting with demolition to clear the way for the new elevator shafts, and then the construction of the shafts and installation of the elevators. Ambassador Susan Flood Burk ’76 to Speak at December Graduation

November 10, 2011 - President McGuire announced that the 2011 December Graduation speaker at Trinity Washington University will be Ambassador Susan Flood Burk ’76, special representative of President Obama for nuclear nonproliferation.   She will receive an honorary doctor of laws.   “Ambassador Burk has a distinguished career of more than 30 years of service in international affairs and at the U.S. Department of State, with a particular emphasis on arms control and disarmament, and preventing the spread of nuclear weapons,” said President McGuire.   Trinity will hold its second December Graduation on Thursday, December 15, at 5:00 pm in the Trinity Center for Women and Girls … Continue reading

Trinity Posts Record Enrollment With More than 2,550 Students

October 25, 2011 - President Patricia McGuire announced that Trinity’s fall 2011 enrollment is 2,555, an all-time high in the history of Trinity. This record enrollment reflects an enrollment growth of 93% since 2001 and an increase of 11% over fall 2010. The fall enrollment includes more than 775 new students in all four schools. In the College of Arts and Sciences, Trinity’s historic women’s college, 996 students are enrolled. This is the largest women’s college enrollment in Trinity’s history; the women’s college has grown by 135% since 2001.
