Trinity Receives $100,000 Grant From the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to Strengthen Liberal Arts

September 30, 2015 - The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation awarded Trinity a prestigious $100,000 grant in September to preserve and strengthen the centrality of liberal education in the College of Arts and Sciences, Trinity’s historic undergraduate women’s college. Trinity was invited by the Mellon Foundation to apply for the grant, and, with a creative and visionary team led by Dr. Pamela Barnett, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Trinity submitted a proposal, “Strong Start in the Liberal Arts.” The Mellon grant will be used to strengthen Trinity’s first year curriculum by focusing on pedagogies to enhance reading and writing across the arts … Continue reading

President McGuire Participates in White House Summit on Expanding Access to Higher Education

December 5, 2014 - Trinity President Patricia McGuire was invited to participate in the White House College Opportunity Day of Action, a major summit of college and university presidents, K-12 educators, and business and nonprofit leaders convened by President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama on December 4.
