President Obama Nominates Two Trinity Graduates to Key Administration Posts

March 26, 2009 - President Barack Obama nominated two Trinity graduates to key posts in the new administration: Susan Flood Burk ’76 to be Special Representative of the President, with the rank of Ambassador at the U.S. Department of State, and M. Patricia Smith ’74, to be Solicitor at the U.S. Department of Labor; Smith will be the third highest ranking official in the federal agency.  Continue reading

Dr. Ray Adomaitis Honored by D.C. Counseling Association

March 11, 2009 - Dr. Ray Adomaitis, assistant professor of counseling in Trinity’s School of Education, received the C. Harold McCully Award for “outstanding service as a counselor educator” at a ceremony during the District of Columbia Counseling Association’s Annual Conference at Gallaudet University on March 7, 2009. President Obama Nominates Trinity Graduate Kathleen Sebelius ’70 to be Secretary of HHS

March 2, 2009 - President Barack Obama nominated Trinity graduate Kathleen Gilligan Sebelius, the Governor of Kansas, to be Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.  “Kathleen Sebelius has a remarkable intellect, unquestioned integrity, and the kind of pragmatic wisdom you’ll tend to find in a Kansan,” President Obama said as he announced her nomination on Monday, March 2. “I know she will bring some much-needed grace and good humor to Washington, and she will be a tremendous asset to my cabinet.” Continue reading
