Literature Online (LION) - offers a collection of more than 350,000 works of English and American poetry, drama and prose, 136 full-text literature journals, and other key criticism and reference resources. Also offers the Poets On Screen Library containing 630 clips of poets reading their own and other poets' work (log-in required for off-campus access).
The Internet Movie Database - huge listing of movie information, searchable by title, characters, people, plots, quotes. Features movie reviews, listing of actors, plot summaries, recommended movies, and much more. Includes television movies and international films. Excellent resource for movie fans.
Alex Catalogue of Electronic Texts - "is a collection of public domain documents from American and English literature as well as Western philosophy". Searchable and visitors can browse by author, title or date.
Electronic Text Center - features an "on-line archive of tens of thousands of SGML and XML-encoded electronic texts and images". Other languages (French, German, Latin, and Spanish) are available. From the University of Virginia (UVA: some resources are limited to UVA students).
Electronic Text Collections in Western European Literature - "Internet sources for literary texts in the western European languages other than English". From the Western European Specialists Section of the Association of College and Research Libraries.
Humanities Text Initiative - diverse collection of full-text resources including various versions of the Bible and other religious works, collected works of Abraham Lincoln, corpus of Middle English prose and verse and more. From the University of Michigan.

Internet Public Library: Books Collection - "contains over 20,000 titles that can be browsed by author, by title, or by Dewey Decimal Classification". Can also be searched.
Online Books Page - features over 18,000 books plus some serials. Visitors can browse by subject, author, title or see new additions. Also features special lists (e.g. banned books) and of various prize winners (e.g. the Nobel Prize, the Newbery Award, the Pulitzer Prize as well as the full-text of these award-winning books, provided that the title are "either out of copyright (at least in the US), or are online with the permission of the copyright holder".
Project Gutenberg - "the Internet's oldest producer of FREE electronic books" features over 6,000 full-text books. Visitors can search or browse by author or title.
African American Women Writers of the 19th Century - selection of published works searchable by category (e.g. title, author, fiction, poetry, biography and autobiography, essays).
American Literature on the Web - "mainly a collection of links to sites on the Internet especially dealing with American literature and its social, cultural contexts. It includes homepages and documents on over 300 authors and electronic texts of their works". Visitors can search or browse through various categories (e.g. drama, southern literature, minority literature, women writers, etc.)
British Women Romantic Poets, 1789-1832 - electronic collection of texts from the Shields Library, University of California, Davis. Visitors can browse or search texts and offers the full-text of the writings with some entries supplemented by information from the Literary Encyclopedia.
Cambridge English Renaissance Electronic Service - features extensive links on Renaissance literature and culture. Includes some online publications of texts as well as links to Renaissance-related research. From the University of Cambridge.
Celebration of Women Writers - "major focus of the Celebration is the development of on-line editions of older, often rare, out-of-copyright works. We choose works from a range of areas to indicate the variety of interests of women writers." Visitors can search by author or category or by name, date, country or ethnicity information or browse by century with dates ranging from 3000 B.C. through to the 20th Century.
ECLAT! The "Essential" Comparative Literature and Theory Site - links to web resources on comparative literature, includes literature and cultural studies, theory, text archives and more.

Internet Public Library: Online Literary Criticism Collection - excellent site that "contains critical and biographical websites about authors and their works that can be browsed by author, by title, or by nationality and literary period".
The Labyrinth: Resources for Medieval Studies - extensive listing of sites for medieval resources. Visitors can browse by categories (e.g. Art, Drama, English, Middle and Old English, Philosophy) or by type of material (e.g. architectural materials, bibliographies, course materials, glossaries, primary texts or secondary texts and archives). Mr. William Shakespeare and the Internet - "a complete annotated guide to the scholarly Shakespeare resources available on Internet". Includes information on Shakespeare's works, criticism, educational information and materials and features a Shakespeare timeline with additional documentation.
Native American Authors Project - searchable alphabetically by author, title or tribe, this site features information on Native American authors and includes biographical information. From the Internet Public Library.
