JobStar Central

Offers links on career information, guides for specific careers, local career centers as well as links to online job advertisements, resumes, salary information, etc. Also check out their information on hidden jobs as "the best jobs are never advertised. Find out why and what to do about it."

U.S. Bureau of Labor Occupational Employment Statistics

Occupational Employment Statistics (OES) program of the Bureau of Labor Statistics "produces employment and wage estimates for over 700 occupations. These are estimates of the number of people employed in certain occupations, and estimates of the wages paid to them."

U.S. Bureau of Labor Occupational Outlook Handbook

"Describes what workers do on the job, working conditions, the training and education needed, earnings, and expected jobprospects in a wide range of occupations." This site allows you to search for a specific occupation, multiple occupations, or you can browse all of the listings. Provided by the Bureau of Labor.

Many internships are offered by Washington area businesses, government agencies, non-profits, and educational institutions. While many are offered in the Washington area, there are also others available in other parts of the States and some may offer work experience abroad. Offers information on how to obtain an internship as well as an extensive listing of major internship opportunities and programs.

Georgetown University, Women in International Security, Internship Directory

Internship Directory lists hundreds of agencies, associations, institutes and embassies offering internship programs (paid and unpaid, summer or year-round) in Washington. Information on application procedures, areas of interest, educational background and more provided.

International Relations Internship Database (University of Toronto)

Offers information on different types of internships and browsable listings of available internships (click on the left for summer internships, browsable by geographic location).
