Smartphone Setup for Students

Most smartphones, including Android, BlackBerry and iPhones can be configured with Google Apps and Gmail service.

Getting Started

1. Your Trinity login password must be a minimum of 8 characters. Update your password at the Account Center if it is less than 8 characters. This will also update your Self-Service and Moodle passwords.
2. Log into Gmail and synchronize your password prior to setting up your smartphone. Your phone will not work without synching passwords!
   
3. Select from the following links below for remaining instructions:
   • Android Devices
   • iPhone & iOS Devices
   • Windows Phone
   • BlackBerry

Android Devices

1. Ensure your Trinity login password is at least 8 characters and you have synched it with Google.
2. On your Android phone, Open the Gmail app. Download it from either http://m.google.com/mail or the Android Marketplace.
3. Click Add account.
4. In the username field, type in your complete student email address. ie – doej@students.trinitydc.edu.
5. Input your password.
6. Click Next to finish configuration.

iPhone & iOS Devices

1. Ensure your Trinity login password is at least 8 characters and you have synched it with Google.
2. Follow remaining instructions listed on Google Sync with your iOS device.

Windows Phone

1. Ensure your Trinity login password is at least 8 characters and you have synched it with Google.
2. Follow remaining instructions listed on Google Sync with your Windows Phone.

BlackBerry

1. Ensure your Trinity login password is at least 8 characters and you have synched it with Google.
2. Download and install the BlackBerry Gmail app on your phone, and follow the remaining on-screen instructions to complete set up.
