Campus Television: IPTV
IPTV Service Notice
Starting in Fall 2017, Trinity’s IPTV service will be discontinued. In lieu of IPTV, Technology Services will install faster internet with speeds up to 1 Gigabit and pervasive wifi service across all residence halls using the latest technologies. These upgrades will occur over Summer 2017 and are anticipated to be completed by Fall 2017
This added capacity will support the growing popularity of online streaming services. We encourage all resident students to review how to stream content to your TV.
Getting Started
Trinity’s IPTV allows students to watch DirecTV programming over the network connection in their dorm room. IPTV is a free service to resident students who can choose to watch IPTV on their computer or using a television set.
Students choosing to watch on a television will need to get a free set-top box, available from Student Services. Set-top boxes must be returned in good condition at the end of each school year.

Requirements for IPTV on a Computer
- Any modern computer meeting or exceeding Trinity’s minimum computing standards.
- IPTV requires Java, and you must use Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer. Google Chrome no longer supports Java, and is therefore unsupported.
- Your computer must be wired via the data (Ethernet) jack. IPTV over wifi is unsupported.
