Kelsey Hutcheson
Kelsey Hutcheson joins Trinity as a member of the Academic Advising team at the School of Professional Studies. As an advisor to graduate students, she hopes to empower each student to take control of his or her academic well-being by providing education on academic policies. Kelsey has previous experience in Student Affairs at The College of William and Mary’s Department of Campus Recreation and at Christopher Newport University’s Office of Counseling Services. She earned both her B.A. in Psychology and Sociology and M.Ed. in Community Counseling from The College of William and Mary. Some of her favorite things include: learning to cook new things, trail running, and football season!
Kelly Watson
Kelly K. Watson is happy to join the School of Professional Studies (SPS) as the new Executive Administrative Assistant! She is a native of St. Louis, Missouri and holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Howard University. Prior to
joining Trinity Washington University, she worked as a high school Mathematics teacher in D.C. Public Schools and as a Research Assistant in Howard University’s Office of Institutional Assessment and Evaluation. Working first hand with the Deans in SPS she expects to learn leadership skills necessary to follow her dreams of becoming a K-12 principal. Kelly enjoys spending time with family and friends, baking delicious cakes, and teaching dance.
Rachel Berger
Rachel Berger, the new Donor Liaison in the Development Office, graduated from Kenyon College in May 2011 with a B.A. in Political Science. She was Class President for three years and a member of the Ladies Varsity Swim Team for 4 years. She moved to Washington, D.C. after graduating and has spent the past year working for Ohio Congressman Tim Ryan and coaching swimming for the well-known Curl-Burke Swim Club. She grew up in Mansfield, Ohio and enjoys swimming, traveling, playing the violin, and baking. She is very excited about joining the Trinity-Washington Community and hopes to inspire alumnae to continue supporting their Alma Mater.
John Eckman
John Eckman joins Trinity as an Accounting Associate in the business office. He is originally from Lafayette,
Indiana. He earned two degrees from Ball State University in Marketing in 2007 and another in Accounting in 2011. He enjoys watching sports, playing guitar, and reading.
Tiara Lowe
Tiara Lowe joins the College of Arts & Sciences Academic Advising team with 10 years of experience in Student Affairs. Her career path in academic advising, career services and the educational non-profit sector have allowed her to fulfill her passion for working with first-generation-to-college and “at-risk” students. As a professional advisor, Tiara plans to continue motivating Trinity’s young women to reach their full potential.
Tiara earned her B.A. in English Literature from Virginia Commonwealth University and later pursued a M.Ed. in Counselor Education (Higher Education) from Virginia State University. In her spare time she enjoys relaxing with her family, watching reality television, and searching for treasures at consignment shops.
Reina Arevalo
Reina Elizabeth Arevalo is originally from El Salvador. She graduated from Trinity Washington University, with a
Bachelor of Arts in Economics, and minors in Spanish and Fine Arts. She has been blessed with the opportunity to work as a Recruiter at Trinity Washington University, where she will be working closely with potential students. Reina looks forward to sharing her Trinity experience with other students, in hopes they too will make the right decision in choosing Trinity Washington University.
Alisa Price
Alisa Price will be joining Trinity University’s Enrollment Services team with over eight years of college admissions and recruiting experience. Prior to working in higher education, Alisa held increasingly responsible roles with professional theatre companies and newspaper publications. She has a husband and three children and moved to Maryland from the Alabama and Mississippi area. When she is not spending time with them, she enjoys designing jewelry for family and friends.
Charnita Mise -Admissions
Charnita Mise is a Trinity Alum, earning her MBA in 2010. She also holds a Bachelors Degree from Bowie State University which she received in 1999. Prior to joining Trinity Washington University, she worked as a legal recruiting coordinator for Beveridge & Diamond PC, and as a summer program coordinator for Covington & Burling LLP. As the Assistant Director of Admissions for the School of Professional Studies, she assists potential students seeking admission into Trinity’s graduate program and the School of Education. Charnita enjoys spending time with family and friends, and reading classic novels and books on U.S. history.
Brittney Stephenson – Admissions
Brittney Stephenson joins the Trinity Admissions team after recently completing her graduate studies at the University of California, Riverside. Her area of interest and focus is in higher education administration and policy, where she hopes to make an impact on helping student’s access post-secondary education. Brittney holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, where she studied the Practice of Fine Arts. In her position at Trinity, Brittney will be recruiting young women from the New England area, in an effort to promote Trinity and higher education. Originally from California, you can find her travelling the globe, or looking for her next destination.
Meaghan Cassidy – Development
Meaghan Cassidy joins the Trinity Development team from American University where she was the Assistant, and then Associate Director of Annual Giving. Originally from New Jersey, Meaghan attended Bucknell University in PA and graduated Cum Laude with a B.A. in English. As the Director of the Annual Fund, Meaghan will be reaching out to Alumnae and friends across the country for their annual donation to Trinity.
Chevaun Whitman – Student Records and Research
Chevaun Whitman is a Southern Maryland native who has had the joy and pleasure of working in higher education for almost ten years. She is a graduate of Morgan State University and earned her M.A. in
Liberal and Professional Studies from Towson University. In her spare time, if there is such a thing, she loves listening to music, dancing, and watching movies, especially romantic comedies. She is excited to unite with Trinity University, as a member of the Enrollment Services staff, and looks forward to upholding Trinity’s commitment to education and excellence .
Alycia Johnson – Admissions
Alycia is a native of Massachusetts. She earned her B.A in Media Studies and Organizational Communication with a minor in Business Administration from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. She also has her M.A. in Communication Studies with a concentration in Intercultural Communication from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL. Alycia has worked in the Admissions field for several years. Prior to joining Trinity, Alycia worked as an Admissions Manager for 2tor, Inc. where she recruited students for the University of Southern California. Alycia has a passion for diversity and has worked as a Diversity Specialist for EMC Corporation. She enjoys helping others reach their goals and learning about different cultures. In her spare time, Alycia enjoys working with youth. She is a Youth Leader at her church and is also the former Chairperson for her Sorority’s Delta G.E.M.S. program. Alycia loves dogs and has spent time volunteering in various animal shelters. Alycia is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Jared Basco – Business Office
Jared Basco joins our Trinity family as an Accounting Associate for the Business Office. Although he
was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, he calls Ft. Myers Florida home. He received his BS in Accounting from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. He is currently studying for his CPA exams which consumes most of his time. However, in finding time for hobbies, he enjoys watching and playing sports. He is also a “lifelong” fan of the Tampa Bay Rays and Dallas Cowboys.
Tori Hornstein – Development
Tori Hornstein joins the Trinity Development team after working in fundraising in the education policy sector. Prior to that, she served as a Teach For America High School Spanish teacher in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Tori holds her M. Ed from American University in secondary education, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Syracuse University, where she attended journalism school. In her position at Trinity, Tori will be visiting Alumnae around the country and raising money for the new academic center. Originally from Massachusetts, you can find her cheering on her Red Sox and Patriots most of the year!
Jennifer Fields – Department of Public Safety
Jennifer Fields is from Clinton Maryland. She works in the Department of Public Safety as adispatch
officer. Before becoming a dispatch officer she worked doing something she really enjoys…caring for children as a nanny. Some of what she enjoys is playing with her two year old daughter Laila, shopping and jet skiing when she has a chance.
Karlita Chambers – Nursing and Health Professions
Karlita Chambers comes to Trinity University with a background in sports medicine and athletic
training. She has a Master of Science in athletic training from California University of Pennsylvania and has been a NATABOC certified athletic trainer for 13 years. Currently, she is completing doctoral studies at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. She serves as a full time instructor for Exercise Science in the School of Nursing and Health Professions. When she is not working, she enjoys reading, writing poetry, singing, cooking, and exercising. She also enjoys outdoor activities, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
China Wilson – Academic Affairs
China Wilson joins our campus as Trinity’s new Director of Career Services and Experiential Learning.
Her background includes work in student services as well as career services. Part of her work in Connecticut, where she earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Central Connecticut State University, included a role as Partnership Coordinator& Health Careers Advisor for the Connecticut Community College System. Most recently, she served as the Program Director for Employer Outreach at the University of Maryland, College Park. Ms. Wilson will work directly with students, faculty, and employers on opportunities for internships and other forms of “experiential learning” (learning that takes place in unique environments or in diverse ways), which are important components of education.
Jan Kress – Nursing and Health Professions
Jan Kress is a licensed occupational therapist in the District of Columbia as well as the program director for Trinity’s NEW occupational therapy assistant program in the School of Nursing and Health Professions. She enjoys sharing her passion about OT with students through online courses, community service learning projects and in labs. She has been an OT in DC and Maryland for over 26 years, teaching in academia and providing OT services through her private practice, in acute care, rehab and homecare settings. Her OT specialty area centers on individuals with central nervous system pathophysiology. Currently, she serves as President of DC’s Occupational Therapy Association called DCOTA she is pursuing her PhD in public health with an emphasis in community health. In her spare time she enjoys watching HGTV, gardening, inventing, playing nerf football and frisbee with her son, and beachcombing with her daughter for the elusive shell called the junonia.
