Cultural Considerations in Management Styles (Managers/Supervisors)

In this session, participants will:
- Observe and come to terms with the idea of an existing “dominant society” within cultures and in the workplace
- Identify the 10 most common identity categories that we observe in our everyday exchanges: gender, sexuality, age, physical ability, class, et al.
- Discuss the identities with regard to self awareness, the self-identification and disclosure process, and in making culturally sensitive assumptions and decisions regarding others based on both research and observation
- Explore preferences in values and priorities in the workplace—i.e. quality v. efficiency; task v. relationship; et al.
