Mission Promotion Intern
The United States Catholic Mission Association (USCMA) unites and supports people committed to the cross-cultural and global mission of Jesus Christ in service to the Church and the world. The USCMA is a non-profit organization located across the street from Trinity at the Hecker Center at 3025 4th Street NE, Suite 100, Washington, DC 20017.
Job Purpose: The person(s) in this position will assist in researching mission news and mission related surveys. This position will also help with prompting the understanding of mission as taught by the Second Vatican Council and assist with mission related projects.
Description of Duties:
- Gather Mission related news stories and Missioner/Sending Organization activities for USCMA publications and assist in entering the responses for the Missioner Survey.
- Assist with the “Mission Stories Project” and the “Faces in Mission Project” – both projects help to spread a greater understanding of Mission to our members, friends and guests.
- Take part in the planning and execution of our Mission Conference (October 24-26, 2014). You will also be able to participate in our workshops and the various activities of the conference.
Qualifications: Candidates should be proficient in using various computer programs, internet and social media tools. Candidates should also have good written and verbal skills and be able to work within a collaborative environment.
Schedule: Flexible hours during regular business hours Monday – Friday.
