Associate Director of Admissions for the College of Arts and Sciences

 
 

Trinity in Washington, a comprehensive university in the nation’s capital, seeks an experienced admissions professional to join the leadership team for Trinity College of Arts and Sciences, the university’s historic women’s college now enrolling more than 1,000 students in full-time daytime undergraduate programs.  Trinity seeks a team leader with high energy, exceptional sales skills, the ability to motivate staff, and a deep commitment to ensuring educational opportunity for women.  Trinity’s student body is highly diverse; more than 90% of the student body is African American, Latina and international.   Recruiting is largely regional, with most Trinity students from D.C. and the surrounding metropolitan Washington region.

The Associate Director will have primary responsibility for the recruitment of students who wish to transfer to Trinity.  This position includes responsibility for planning and executing strategies and tactics to enroll at least 100 transfer students each in the fall and spring semesters.  The successful candidate must have familiarity with strategies and tactics for successful transfer recruiting.  Like all admissions staff, the Associate Director will be responsible to manage all tasks associated with recruiting and admissions, e.g., participation in college fairs, recruiting at specific locations, all prospect communications, review of case files, interviews, management of on-campus admissions events, etc.  Evening and weekend work is sometimes necessary.

The Associate Director will also be a team leader, with the Director of Admissions, in managing and supervising all recruiters for the College of Arts and Sciences.  The successful candidate will have significant experience managing personnel to achieve goals.

Candidates must present at least 3-5 years of progressively responsible admissions experience in a comparable institution, along with a track record of success in recruiting and enrolling students according to goals, and managing staff to achieve results.  Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, are essential.  A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required, master’s preferred.
