BYTE BACK, Inc. is a non-profit organization, which focuses on information literacy skills for the local community. They are located in the community at: 815 Monroe St., NE, Washington, DC, 20017 – www.byteback.org.
Who Is Byte Back?
Since its founding in 1997, Byte Back has provided affordable, hands-on computer training. This work enables economically disadvantaged adults to acquire marketable skills — and thus, jobs.
Despite society’s increasing reliance on computers, training for the under- and unemployed is not keeping pace with the demand for workers. Because of this, Byte Back’s training opportunities are more important than ever.
Purpose: To teach basic computer classes to adults in DC.
Duties: Create a lesson plan and teach classes, or assist the teacher in the instruction of classes.
Byte Back is conveniently located just across from the Brookland/CUA Metro Station. There are opportunities for you to work starting in early September.
You must attend a volunteer orientation, which can be scheduled with the Volunteer Coordinator for Byte Back. Although this is a paid, work-study position for you, the positions are titled ‘volunteers’.
