Trinity Washington University’s Development Office is seeking an individual to fill the newly created position of Gifts Officer. This person will play a key role in shaping the position to stimulate giving from multiple constituencies. Working with a dedicated group of professionals, the Gift Officer will work closely with others to secure the University’s Capital Campaign goals.
The primary purpose of this position is to ensure effective cultivation, solicitation of Campaign gifts. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of prospects and visit them on a regular basis, steward relationships with existing donors, and engage identified prospects in “discovery” visits.
This position reports to the Vice President for Development. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and one to three years of development experience; previous experience in higher education is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong presentation and organizational skills are necessary for success in this position.
