Trinity is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic and energetic fundraising professional to be the Director of the Trinity Annual Fund. The Annual Fund Director raises more than $1.5 million in gifts from more than 13,000 alumnae and alumni, parents, friends and the business community. This is a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves position that makes a positive and tangible impact on Trinity and the students it serves.
The Director is responsible for planning and implementing an aggressive Annual Fund campaign soliciting unrestricted gifts that will be used for general purposes. The Director is responsible for creating and implementing a solicitation schedule, and for all aspects of the production and execution of solicitations, including concept development, all copy writing and management of printing and mailing. The Director makes individual solicitations in person and on the phone, and recruits and manages Annual Fund volunteers. The Director is supported by a database manager and donor liaison, and oversees database processing of gifts, acknowledgment of all gifts via receipt and letter, and management of records related to daily gift processing and stewardship. Collaboration with the Alumnae Affairs Office is essential for Annual Fund Reunion Giving and other fundraising initiatives, and also in creating events and providing services to alumnae to enhance alumnae relationships and increase giving to the institution. The Director will work with other Development staff on Trinity’s new capital campaign for a university academic center. This position reports to the Vice President for Development.
The Director of the Annual Fund shall have a bachelor’s degree, with at least three years of successful experience in fundraising and/or higher education advancement. Annual fund experience is required. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and superior writing and verbal communications skills are a must, along with a strong ability to manage multiple projects and supervise personnel. Knowledge of advancement issues in higher education, university operations and budgetary experience are all highly desirable. Experience with volunteer management is also very important. The Director must demonstrate skill in planning and coordinating projects and events and meeting goals.
