Trinity Washington University, a comprehensive university in the nation’s capitol, seeks a dynamic educator for Nursing Programs within the School of Nursing and Health Professions. The University offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (pre-licensure and RN-BSN) with plans for a Master’s in Nursing (MSN) starting spring 2014. This full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track position with an expectation for renewable contract is available for fall 2013.
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in nursing, PhD or DNP preferred. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of teaching experience in a School of Nursing, preferably in a setting similar to Trinity’s. As the position involves teaching and advising students in Trinity’s nursing programs, the successful applicant will be deeply committed to teaching excellence with a particular emphasis on exceptional success in the health professions and a rich understanding of preparing students for bachelor’s and master’s level work. The candidate will hold a current license in good standing as a Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia, or be eligible to obtain a District of Columbia Registered Nurse license.
In addition to teaching and advising, Trinity’s nursing faculty also work closely on curricular initiatives which may include designing and implementing theoretical, clinical or laboratory instruction plus evaluating and revising course curriculum; evaluating student achievement of course objectives related to nursing knowledge and practice; and participating in the development, implementation, and assessment of the programs. Faculty also play active roles in working with part-time faculty colleagues as well as other aspects of the University life.
