Trinity in Washington, a comprehensive university in the nation’s capital, seeks an Associate Dean for the School of Nursing and Health Professions who will serve as the Chief Nursing Officer for Trinity’s nursing programs. Reporting directly to the Dean, the Associate Dean will support the division’s development and strategic goals by assisting the Dean in expanding the School’s educational programming; working closely with faculty and administrators in ensuring ongoing compliance with accreditation standards; and guiding program development, including the Master’s in Nursing and other programs. The Associate Dean will also help foster the division’s interprofessional healthcare education.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Associate Dean will be the Chief Nursing Officer responsible for nursing program accreditation and will work with the Dean to expand healthcare professional education offerings. The Associate Dean will assist with faculty interprofessional collaboration, faculty development, programmatic and curricular assessment, staffing, course scheduling, as well as a variety of projects that support the strategic plan of the School of Nursing and Health Professions. The successful candidate must be able to take a lead role in nursing education, including guiding nursing faculty professional development while serving in a supporting capacity with other programs.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates for the Associate Dean position must have a terminal degree in nursing or related field (Ph.D. preferred), be eligible for nursing licensure in the District of Columbia, and demonstrate a minimum of five years experience in higher education with at least three years of teaching. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills; be detail oriented; have experience with external accreditation; be knowledgeable of programmatic assessment; display good rapport with colleagues both within and outside the institution; demonstrate an exceptional capacity for working as part of a team; and have a track record for creative engagement with faculty, staff, and students in supporting their work in teaching and research.
