Director of Instructional Technologies

 
 

Trinity, a comprehensive university in the nation’s capital, seeks a Director of Instructional Technologies.  The successful candidate will work closely with Academic Affairs and Information leaders and teams in identifying and promoting current and emerging educational technologies that enhance teaching and learning.  The Director of Instructional Technologies coordinates and delivers a wide range of opportunities for students, faculty, and staff at Trinity to adopt and evolve in their use of instructional tools that rely on technology to promote new opportunities for student and faculty success, including but not limited to Moodle (Trinity’s learning management system).  The Director bears responsibility for keeping abreast of trends in technology when such trends might usefully advance Trinity strategically, particularly in Academic Affairs and enrollment, retention, and programmatic development initiatives.  In partnership with colleagues across campus, the Director facilitates use of technology so that as Trinity advances strategically, external and internal constituencies understand and apply new skills that promote learning.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of a master’s degree with advanced coursework and/or training in technology preferred.  S/he will Demonstrate competency in evaluating, demonstrating, and promoting educational technologies including but not limited to Moodle, Microsoft Suite products, and emerging tools and have familiarity with SunGuard’s PowerCAMPUS data management system.  With excellent communication skills evident in oral and written communications, the Director will also pay strong attention to detail and interact effectively with a wide range of constituents ranging from students to full-time and part-time faculty to senior administrators.  S/he should have a demonstrated ability to teach both simple and complex skills to a variety of learners with diverse backgrounds and learning patterns.   The Director’s ability to learn new skills quickly and to integrate them into existing frameworks should complement a clear focus and ability to work strategically with an emphasis on mission-driven institutional initiatives.   The successful candidate will bring dedication, innovation and energy to the position along with a commitment to a student-centered learning environment.
