Director of Career Services and Experiential Learning

 
 

Trinity Washington University, in Washington, D.C. seeks applications for the position of Director of Career Services and Experiential Learning.  The Director of Career Services and Experiential Learning is responsible for the organization and administration of the Career Services Center, supporting all undergraduate and graduate students in Trinity’s School of Professional Studies, School of Education, School of Nursing and Health Professions, and College of Arts and Sciences, Trinity’s historic women’s college.  The Career Services Center also supports Trinity alumnae/i in their ongoing career development as appropriate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Director develops all plans and programs for the cultivation of prospective employers and their contacts with Trinity students and graduates; participates in the establishment of pathways into specific careers supported in Trinity’s curriculum; facilitates training of faculty in the alignment of curricula and workforce needs; and as appropriate assists the Alumnae Relations Office in sustaining career programs and referral networks for
Trinity graduates. Recognizing the importance of life-long learning that involves application of knowledge,  the Director also oversees and coordinates all experiential learning initiatives, including but not limited to those involving portfolio credit for prior learning, internships, student/career exchange programs, study abroad  programs, and other opportunities that may involve non-traditional learning opportunities.   The Director
will work closely with collegiate deans as well as with the Provost and Academic Services in overseeing and coordinating the learning opportunities associated with this position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

At least five years of relevant professional experience required, including a master’s degree.  The successful candidate will have familiarity with academic and career programming as well as a full understanding of experiential learning and its assessment.
