The Center for Youth and Family Investment (CFYI) is a Washington, DC 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established t enable and support DC traditional public and public schools in distressed neighborhoods in offering a variety of high-quality programs that support academic instruction and enrich the development of the whole child outside the regular school day.

CFYI’s Heads Up program is our literacy-focused afetr-school tutoring program. Heads Up operates from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm daily during the school year, serving students kindergarten through 5th grade. College students are provided lesson plans to facilitate literacy activities for an hour each day, followed by project-based enrichment activities. Round-trip bus transportation is provided from each campus to the school site daily.
