Visiting Assistant Professor of Religious Studies and Philosophy

 
 

Trinity Washington University invites applications for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor of Religious Studies and Philosophy in the historic College of Arts and Sciences for undergraduate women.  This is a non-renewable, 10-month position, commencing in Fall 2011.

The successful candidate will hold either a doctoral degree in Religion or a closely-related field. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching in a collegiate environment such as Trinity’s. Trinity’s focus on the liberal arts requires that the successful candidate be able to actively support critical thinking and writing skills.  Experience in online course management tools such as Moodle is a plus.  Experience teaching diverse populations of undergraduate students is required.

Responsibilities include a four/four teaching load and participation in program assessment as led by the Dean’s office. 

Candidates should provide a cover letter describing their qualifications and interest in this position and curriculum vitae specifying their teaching experience.  Sample syllabi, course evaluations, writing samples, and three letters of recommendation should also be available for review.  Review of applications will continue until an appointment is made.
