Trinity in Washington, a comprehensive university in the nation’s capital, seeks an Associate Dean for the School of Nursing and Health Professions who will assist the Dean in expanding the School’s educational programming. Reporting directly to the Dean, the Associate Dean will build the School’s online offerings and support the division’s development, providing health care educational opportunities within which students are prepared across the lifespan for the intellectual, ethical and spiritual dimensions of contemporary work, civic and family life. The School of Nursing and Health Professions educates health care leaders who make a difference in their patient’s lives and their community.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Associate Dean will work with the Dean, colleagues across the University, as well as faculty and staff on online education, faculty development, assessment, staffing, scheduling, as well as a variety of projects that support the growth of the School of Nursing and Health Professions. The successful candidate must be able to take a lead role in online education while serving in a supporting capacity in others.
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates for the Associate Dean position must have a terminal degree in Nursing (Ph.D. preferred) and a minimum of five years in higher education with at least three years of teaching in higher education. The successful candidate will have experience with online education; strong leadership and communication skills; pay strong attention to detail; have experience with external accreditation; be knowledgeable of programmatic assessment; display a strong rapport with colleagues both within and outside of the institution; demonstrate an exceptional capacity for working as part of a team; and have a track record for creative engagement with faculty, staff, and students in supporting their work in teaching and research.
